Garden Waste Collections

The seasonal garden waste kerbside collection service will cease on Friday, 30th November, 2018.

If your collection of garden waste falls on any day during week commencing 19th November, 2018, this will be your last collection this year.

The garden waste service will re-commence in the spring 2019. Collection schedules will be communicated in due course.

You can put the following items out for collection in your garden sack:

Leaves Flowers Plants Weeds Grass cuttings Hedge clippings Tree and shrub prunings Small branches

We are unable to collect the following items in the garden sack:

Large branches/logs **

Soil and turf**

Invasive plants (Japanese knotweed, Hogweed, Ragwort) Stones**

Food waste (use your food waste bin)

Animal waste (small amounts can be put in your wheelie bin)

Wood**

Households that have been provided with a green (reusable) garden waste sack and use the scheme, can request and extra bag. If you do not currently have a garden waste sack please contact us and we will arrange for one to be delivered.

We limit the quantity we collect each fortnight to 6 bags. If you have a large quantity of garden waste please put out for collection over a number of weeks.

Once collected, the garden waste is taken to a local facility where it is turned into useful compost soil conditioner.

Garden waste can also be taken to the Household Waste and Recycling Centres in Aberfan and Dowlais.
